A checklist may be defined as a comprehensive list of important or relevant action or steps to be taken in a specific order and this list includes items to be noted, checked, or remembered. Managing the bigger task comprises of many small tasks and is always  difficult. at given point of time tracking of the all the tasks and it status is inhuman without use of checklist. Every task is important.Missing the task will have the effect on final result of the task.When one wants to wed its very important to have a wedding checklist because it reduces the risk of skipping something important, helps minimize critical errors and helps in monitoring,evaluating and managing the progress of the wedding plans.

That being said the following are the essentials of a wedding checklist meaning that the following is what your checklist should contain basically after your engagement and it would help you plan a perfect wedding 


  • Key decisions  e.g. type of ceremony, wedding theme, color scheme
  •  Wedding budget
  • Investigated venues and make a decision you both agree on and support
  • Church or approved a venue for ceremony
  • Ceremony time and date with minister or registrar
  • Give notice at your local register office
  • Book reception venue
  • Prepare draft guest list
  • Start looking for your wedding dress - try on lots of different styles, make sure you keep an open mind as something you may have never considered might just be perfect once you have it on!
  • Choose your bridesmaids and ask them if they will be available
  • Get your groom to choose a Best Man- This will be important as he may need a helping hand when going about his groom duties
  • Tasks which need to be done
  • Check passport will still be valid for your honeymoon. If the passport expires - arrange for a passport in your new name (will only be valid from date)
  • Start looking for wedding suppliers visit, ask them questions
  • Make a provisional booking for time off work for your honeymoon
